PVP (GVG) monk armour
I'm not too sure if this thread should be posted in this subject, so if i'm in the wrong place please move me.
Anyway, i was wondering what armour should you get for monk pvp(GvG)
i was thinking on all the maximum energy, with no mods just energy +8 armour? But not totaly sure, as monks have low health with a superior rune i want to see what most expd pvp monks use.
Post in please

It depends on your build, but usually if you're a boon prot and/or have channeling, you would want Acolytes (+defense while enchanted) chest and legs, and tatoos for rest.
It's also good to have a +health set, which you can use when facing a spike build.

yep, i'm always boon prot could change but for the moment boon is my build, so 1 piece of armour with +15 armour(enchanted) sounds good. Any more ideas for boon prot armour?

Full Acolytes is a good option. You can always use +hp or +energy feet/arms but I don't think it matters that much.

I would suggest +10 physical. The +10 enchanted is a little to conditional imo even if your a boon prot, especially when you are being spiked. +10 physical is nice because the current meta is so warrior oriented. A warrior either has to accept that the target is 70 base or sacrifice his vamp/furious mod to go elemental.

+10 vs Physical or +35hp, depending on the situation. Mixing and matching armor sets is largely pointless, as the benefit of each piece also scales with it's percentage chance of being hit.

Get multiple sets. I would suggest at least getting a +health set and a +armor vs physical set. Other than that, you can get stuff like +armor vs elemental in case you happen to face a non-earth caster spike and stuff, but it's not very likely that you'll use it.

I also reccomend getting a full set of + Health and a full set of + Physical. I'd also reccomend you get headgear with a Minor and a Major rune as well.
You can also get + AL while enchanted, + AL vs elemental, and +AL while suffering from a condition armor too. I lug around a set of the later two, just incase, but rarely ever use them.
Oh, and make sure you get a set of low-AL ascalon or Shining Jea Armor, and a plain Vampiric, or Double Vampiric(reccomended, it's twice as fast) weapon so you can degen to death when you get stuck. -50 Health Grim Cesta reccomended, but not required. If you're not planning on playing very seriously though, you could just let this slide and hope the other team is nice enough to kill you.

I always use the +10 armor as a body part, and tatoos for the rest. But it just differs for everybody, try some things out and see what you like most.

I use Judges pants and chest, aestetics hands and feet. Works well for me. I really need to get some health chest/leggings though.

looking good, i always thought that full energy set was the best. I can see it is not good any more, and monks always get targeted in pvp.
btw question: for boon prot in gvg, i want to use a superior protion prayors but i think its wrong. Hmm not that bad with prot spirit but prot spirit is 10 energy... Hard one lol, post ideas please. Maybe a major?
can you put it like this?
head=
body=
arms=
legs=
feet=

^I don't think you really gain much from running a Superior Protection rune on a boon prot... In fact I'd say it was a bad idea all around.
If anything you should run a MAJOR divine favor rune. But I still don't think that the gain is worth the health loss.

Armor's locational. So it's not the best of ideas to have the +10 on only one body part. Even if you had it on your chest, there is still a very large chance it will hit somewhere else.
I'll also just add my voice to those suggesting Armor vs. Physical and +Health Armor.

I run monk quite a bit, I have found that wearing the +10 while enchanted is one of the best as a Boon Prot / RC Prot, or you have one of those in the group. Even if you are SB/Infuse or WoH, you will still maintain Channeling on yourself like a good monk should. Therefore you have 70 armor no matter what, plus if you get 2 warriors on you switch to +armor while enchanted weapon offhand, or a Staff with both Armor mods. Then switch back.

Do not run a superior or major rune on a monk. Please. You have no use for it. For a boon prot, just run 13-14 divine and then 9-10 in each of prot and inspiration, based on your personal preference (especially of e-management skills). If you want to run gift of health, then I suggest 13 divine and 9 in each of prot, healing, and inspiration.

Vest: +10 vs physical 60% of time,, +10^enchanted 30% of time,, +10%vs elemental 10% of time
Pants: +10 vs physical 50% of time,, hp+10 20% of time,, energy +2 30% of time,, +10%vs elemental 10%
Hands: hp+5/energy +1 50%/50%
Legs: hp+5/energy +1 50%/50%
no point in using full +10 vs physical or any full set of +10 vs/while armor becouse those love percentages hit on feet/hands....

Well... sups are fine if you have somethign to swap to. ASsuming that you're running a PvE cahracter (otherwise why would you ask about buying armor?) then by all means run a sup to precast boon and then swap down to a minor.

ok thanks again, ill say this is what ill use so far:
head: prot +1
body: armour +10 physical
legs:+10 vs physical (energy + maybe)( or +10 enchanted) still decideing
arms:energy +
feet: energy +
and for weapons
atm im using a energy +5 enchants 20% sword and the straff effigy from end of cantha. But not too sure about weapons, like is using staff better than using offhand and +5 weapon for some cases?
any more good ideas? post in!
